Mercury Retrograde, Oh My! Free Weekly Horoscopes February 25 – March 3, 2013

Mercury is retrograde and so we are blessed with the opportunity to revisit many ideas, projects and situations that need to be transformed. Hence, there is a lot of internal unrest stirring up your emotions and your thinking could get a bit gibberish through the middle of March.

This translates into national unrest, an unraveling of grudges and hurts and everyone feeling very sensitive about, well, everything. This isn't pretty to watch and it could lead you to witness or become a part of nasty tirades, arguments and shouting matches in the most unlikely places.

You must forgive---forgive yourself and others. It is the only way to release the hurt and pain and not carry them around with you. Replace limiting beliefs with thoughts that include prosperity, ease and joy.

If none of those grab your interest, there is one way to move in this new direction that you can practice on your own---Open Your Heart, forgive and practice doing so constantly.

Aries (Mars) – Think before you speak. A situation that boiled over recently is still causing some distrust and concern for some involved. Although home and family may be safe from harm, you could be carrying a piece of information that triggers the odd response in strangers, neighbors and co-workers. Pay attention to what your thoughts are focused on and release anything that is mean spirited or detrimental. 5 of Swords

Taurus (Venus) – Overlaying illusion on top of a spiritual quest has reached its limits. Now you must step forward with your own ideas to fulfill the dream you desire. Drop any ideas that require others to behave in a certain manner---it's not to your advantage to attempt to control others. Minor shifting will occur during flight. Knight of Cups reversed

Gemini (Mercury) – Family history is transforming and you have the opportunity to release a long held idea that has ceased to serve anyone. Contemplate what that might be and then formulate some type of statement to repeat to yourself that plants a new, more realistic and loving concept in your mind. The situation is based on a male point of view and the concepts surrounding female behavior. 10 of Cups reversed

Cancer (Moon) – When shifting rapidly between emotion and practicality, one may get hung-up on right and wrong. The decision you are faced with is part of an emotional response to an already established line of power. To make the final decision--choose one answer at a time and follow in your heart to where it might lead. Ace of Wands reversed

Leo (Sun) – This week you will witness others making decisions based on their past mistakes or misperceptions. This may be on a national or local level or just within the confines of the office you work in or the group you connect with online. Relax, you will be fine, however, your emotions may rise and need some soothing and your mental patterns will definitely learn some new tricks. King of Wands reversed

Virgo (Mercury) – This week focus on discernment and developing skills that allow you to really grasp a situation and not fall prey to your own misinterpretations. Discernment is a tool that is often overlooked as being of value. In order to discern we must know what our personal pitfalls are. 8 of cups reversed

Libra (Venus) – You have directed your life path into a new and exciting direction. You are rapidly headed toward the shores of success. However, don't lose sight of the need for meditation and moments of contemplation as you move forward. Changing landscapes bring changing emotions and responses. Magician

Scorpio (Pluto) – You are gaining ground this week and along with it personal power. However, all of that could be lost in a blink. To temper such a drastic change, make sure you are being honest with yourself and stop pushing the truth about “you” under the rug. The fact is you have been operating from a familial set of standards that are unrealistic and incorrect. Ace of Coins reversed.

Sagittarius (Jupiter) – It's time to loosen up those ideas at your foundation, the ones you operate from every day, and evaluate whether those ideas are connecting you with what you truly want. Use disruption to consider another point of view and to take on a new characteristic that might benefit you. Refresh some aspect of self every month this year to gain the insight you are wishing for. Hanged Man reversed

Capricorn (Saturn) – If you launch into the area you are headed without a second thought, you may find you are not fully equipped to manage. The release of many long-term, difficult situations has created a rush of energy that may fool you into thinking the time is right to move forward. Stop yourself and take a second look. 6 of Cups reversed

Aquarius (Uranus) – Focus on your heart for the moment and examine those situations that you are hanging onto. Forgiveness is essential to resolving disputes. Forgive yourself if you cannot yet forgive them. Forgive and you will be rewarded with an increase in love The Devil reversed

Pisces (Neptune) – It's time to act on the topic you have focused on since last Fall. The worry and concern can be relieved through the understanding of balance and justice. Remember, in the earth realm every cause has an effect--meaning every thought has an effect. Forgiveness and love can overcome all. 8 of Cups reversed

Keywords Get You What You Want

Here's a link to the weekly horoscopes in case you missed them or need to check in.

I am watching with amusement a local business development group attempting to rally around the same goal but with minimal success. The reason I am amused is because of the words they are choosing to use in describing each others needs and their own perceptions. They are further insulting each other without meaning to. This is something I recognize in the outside world all of the time. Most of our issues are a matter of semantics. We don't disagree as much as we perceive. We just don't choose the correct words to a.) state what we mean and b.) get what we want.

A Case Study
For example, the situation I am watching involves several groups attempting to develop business around a core industry. Each group plays a particular role, some with more power to outwardly direct the industry and others with just as much if not more power but less so in the actual development. The word “weak” was used to describe the later group in a heated conversation. I laughed out loud and clutched my heart at the same time. You don't insult the ones you are looking to for support even if “weak” is a valid description in a particular situation. Identifying them as having a different stake in the issue would have been a better move.

Here are four ways to use words more effectively.

Listen, listen, listen and listen some more. Listen to them and yourself and put yourself in the shoes of the other. Would you want to be referred to as weak? I think not. Consider words that are more balancing. If needed use a dictionary but stay within the bounds of normal language for the topic.

Don't respond immediately. This is so difficult to follow but one of the best pieces of advice anyone ever gave me. Wait, smile, and wait some more. Do you really have something to contribute or do you think you gain power by saying just anything? Or worse yet, do you just need to hear yourself speak?

Return to the issues. When words have been misunderstood the best way to diffuse is to return to the issues at hand. Do you know what they are and have they been identified before the discussion started?

Keep up. Sounds silly but if you are speaking to a broad audience do you understand the real issues? Are you aware of the world and its changing vernacular? We can get side tracked as we age and wake up one day to discover the world has changed under our feet. Make an effort to understand what someone is attempting to convey and where their points of reference might be staked.

I am not one for watering down language—George Carlin has my respect in many ways. Say what you mean don't speak to be mean. Choosing words carefully can mean the difference between building bridges or creating unnecessary oceans.

Give Up? Are You Kidding? - Weekly Tarot Horoscopes

Juy 2 - July 8

Lots of strong feelings this week cause many of us to want to throw in the towel. Don’t. Don’t hand over your power to someone else just to placate the invaders. Do, however, measure carefully what you want to gain and what needs to drop away. Walk into any fray knowing what you want to gain from it. Formulate a direction before so that you have a foundation to act from. If you walk in with greed on the brain then you are missing the point.

It is those of use that have no foundation or a faulty foundation (premise can be substituted for the word foundation) that get knocked to the bottom. Giving yourself a point to work from means having a way to make clear and advantageous decisions – it gives you a place to refer the decisions to and the ability to ask, “Does it serve my purpose?” before saying yea or nay. The universe has an uncanny ability to match your needs to the right opportunity. Know this and live it.

Living is not a competition but if you choose to live your life in a competitive manner then someone wins and someone loses. Believing this is truth puts you into cycles of worry, concern, judging, and waves of superiority and inferiority. When did any of that get us where we need to go?

Education is the key.

Staying Grounded When Change Shifts Everything

My personal experience with change shows me that building a support system is an important preparatory step to surviving change with a modicum of sanity. You will never be able to build for every change, that’s just the nature of change. But you can put some anchors in place to assist the process. And this is where the earth cards come into play.

What is Change?
Change is simply a transformation of energy from one form or one state into another. Some changes are much more dramatic than others and for a variety of reasons. All change demands a mental transformation and challenges our way of thinking. Sometimes it involves a perceived loss. Tracking the whole truth about the transformation/change is not available until after the fact. And, to make it more difficult, the need for perspective in tracking the deepest truth about the change can reel itself into the future so far that perceiving the whole of it, well sometimes it just never happens. In other words, the true nature of change happens to the person experiencing the change. Expressing the experience verbally is often very difficult.

The Magick of Earth
Thank the universe for the element of earth. Earth grounds and depending on the degree of earth within you, you may be able to ground yourself easily without much thought. People who can do this can weather any storm and you definitely want one of them in your corner. But alas, most us get flustered in one area or another and need help.

Try incorporating these 3 ways toward stability into your path:

1. Plan a firm foundation – Combine your mental capability with earth. Focus and attention and developing skills will carry you through any job or career change. It’s when we get stagnant and inflexible that we don’t move forward. Look to education as the way up. Tackle skills before you really need them. Allow your self some time to mourn any loss but don’t make the loss part of your belief system. Examine these cards in the Rider-Waite deck: 8 of Coins

2. Limit distractions – This may mean eliminating people who demand that you entertain them. It may also mean cutting back on diversionary tactics and stepping out of auto pilot – less television, less internet, less gossip, more reading, deeper conversation, more volunteering, more physical movement. It also means you need to face every day squarely and face first. Being able to hear and observe can save you from a load of trouble. Teach your children how to entertain themselves and help them prepare for change in their lives. Give them a span of time each day when they are expected to do so - reading books, playing games, planning a future event. Examine these cards in the Rider-Waite deck: 7 of Coins

3. Head in a different direction - Adopt the idea that everyday when you rise, everything has changed. That in the dark of night a little gnome has moved the one pawn you need moved in order to win. When everyone was asleep you gained ground. You can leave the gnome out if you want just know that your perception is limited unless you make an effort to take yourself out of it. So when you catch yourself being automatic, stop and head in a different direction. Get out of bed on the opposite side than you normally do. Use your mouse with your other hand. Choose the smaller grocery cart and make smarter choices. Try a different gas station. Examine these cards in the Rider-Waite deck: 5 of Coins reversed

The secret is to ground yourself in change and then change will never be ungrounded again. Make change an adventure.
