How To Analyze Tarot Horoscopes and Readings

Here are some notes and observations that may assist you when reading the tarot horoscopes I write for you every week:

  • Tarot readings and horoscopes are conversations with self. The reader or writer is merely an interpreter/facilitator. They do not necessarily know the details of your everyday life. Use them as a tool for self analysis and to plan and strategize and you will get the most from them.

  • Writing a horoscope means writing for 1000's of people with the same astrological sun sign. Although I see details, I need to generalize them to some extent so everyone can benefit.

  • A general horoscope touches on a bird's eye view of the energy available during the time period stated. You are always in charge of your life so do with the information what thou wilt.

  • If I make reference to a relationship and you are not in one, consider those around you that you relate to everyday - coworkers, neighbors, bosses, the people that serve you in the stores you frequent on a daily or weekly basis. These are relationships too.

  • Business and work may be home and family to some of us. Home and family may be business and work to others. Keep this in mind when reading your scope.

  • The pronouns he and she generally refer to masculine and feminine energy. When reading, I see the difference in the energies but not necessarily as individual people. You are left to interpret this as needed.

  • My readings are very non-biased toward physical gender and sexual preferences. I don't care if you have to paint yourself purple to have sex. It does not matter to me. However, if you are abusive in any manner to anyone or thing, that does matter and you need to seek help OR if you are uncomfortable with your sexuality or misusing it in some way then seek help.

  • When I bring up legal issues and you know you have none then consider that there are legal issues within - areas that need more balance, are ill, in need of being removed or put on probation.

  • There are no evil cards in the tarot. Many people take issue with this. Here's my take: Intent is 100% of the law. People can be evil if that is their intent. But the cards? They are merely symbols that describe concepts and consciousness. The Tower, The Devil, and the Death card can indicate a death or a traumatic event but more than likely they are references to transformation, new life, the pitfalls of life or transition.

  • If you choose to see the world as a bad place then, indeed, it will be.

  • Change is a gift.

Staying Grounded When Change Shifts Everything

My personal experience with change shows me that building a support system is an important preparatory step to surviving change with a modicum of sanity. You will never be able to build for every change, that’s just the nature of change. But you can put some anchors in place to assist the process. And this is where the earth cards come into play.

What is Change?
Change is simply a transformation of energy from one form or one state into another. Some changes are much more dramatic than others and for a variety of reasons. All change demands a mental transformation and challenges our way of thinking. Sometimes it involves a perceived loss. Tracking the whole truth about the transformation/change is not available until after the fact. And, to make it more difficult, the need for perspective in tracking the deepest truth about the change can reel itself into the future so far that perceiving the whole of it, well sometimes it just never happens. In other words, the true nature of change happens to the person experiencing the change. Expressing the experience verbally is often very difficult.

The Magick of Earth
Thank the universe for the element of earth. Earth grounds and depending on the degree of earth within you, you may be able to ground yourself easily without much thought. People who can do this can weather any storm and you definitely want one of them in your corner. But alas, most us get flustered in one area or another and need help.

Try incorporating these 3 ways toward stability into your path:

1. Plan a firm foundation – Combine your mental capability with earth. Focus and attention and developing skills will carry you through any job or career change. It’s when we get stagnant and inflexible that we don’t move forward. Look to education as the way up. Tackle skills before you really need them. Allow your self some time to mourn any loss but don’t make the loss part of your belief system. Examine these cards in the Rider-Waite deck: 8 of Coins

2. Limit distractions – This may mean eliminating people who demand that you entertain them. It may also mean cutting back on diversionary tactics and stepping out of auto pilot – less television, less internet, less gossip, more reading, deeper conversation, more volunteering, more physical movement. It also means you need to face every day squarely and face first. Being able to hear and observe can save you from a load of trouble. Teach your children how to entertain themselves and help them prepare for change in their lives. Give them a span of time each day when they are expected to do so - reading books, playing games, planning a future event. Examine these cards in the Rider-Waite deck: 7 of Coins

3. Head in a different direction - Adopt the idea that everyday when you rise, everything has changed. That in the dark of night a little gnome has moved the one pawn you need moved in order to win. When everyone was asleep you gained ground. You can leave the gnome out if you want just know that your perception is limited unless you make an effort to take yourself out of it. So when you catch yourself being automatic, stop and head in a different direction. Get out of bed on the opposite side than you normally do. Use your mouse with your other hand. Choose the smaller grocery cart and make smarter choices. Try a different gas station. Examine these cards in the Rider-Waite deck: 5 of Coins reversed

The secret is to ground yourself in change and then change will never be ungrounded again. Make change an adventure.

At A Standstill? Blocked By The Boss? - Weekly Tarot Horoscopes

April 9 - April 15

The cards speak this week to an inordinate amount of feelings of being blinded or blocked in movement. Gauntlets and fine lines abound to be walked, danced, and rolled across. Here’s how I deal with situations like these.

Whether you are blocked or blinded you are generally feeling unable to move forward or in any direction you may think you need to go. Granted, someone may have decided they don’t want you to achieve movement and actually blocked you or it could be due to your own devices that you find yourself in a stand still. Truly it doesn’t matter which it is and here is why. Finding yourself at a standstill is an opportunity to stop and take a look around. (Warning: This may not work for race car drivers or anyone in the process of moving very fast. But you knew that, right?) Really, look around you, re-examine your situation and reformulate if you find you need to. If someone is blocking you then the ability to look around you can be used to your advantage – they actually have put you in the drivers seat. These are opportunities to regroup and get stronger if you choose to perceive them that way. Then again, maybe it’s all in your head. Perception is based on your own experiences and beliefs. Change those or re-arrange them and perceptions change.

All in all it’s a week of lists, traffic and delays. Find something to distract you or give yourself more downtime than usual. Keep your thoughts looking forward!
